My old elementary school is about 5-minutes walk from my house, give or take. From the front, there's the sign on the grass hill and the flagpole with flowers at the base. The main building, a V-shape in a way, is located behind that. Asphault to the other side and portables to both sides of the main building. Near the lunch tables, there are two playgrounds and a field in the back, which pretty much spans the entire length of the campus. Lastly, there's an area of dirt in the very back, with trees spread throughout it.

The "Backfield," as we called it, used to be open, but was banned when I was in second grade, I think, by the new principal. We used to use walnuts from the trees as money and everything was sold there. It was like our own little civilization. I remember that one of my best friends and I were the advisors for the president. Then he betrayed us or whatnot... I don't quite know what happened, really.

Anyways, out of campus, behind the Backfield, was a field of weeds. Just recently, they built a park there. Two playgrounds and a single tennis court. I like the park there, they have swings. ^^ I used to want swings in our elementary school. I loved swings when I was younger and I still do. I'm a child at heart. I always tried to swing higher and higher, thinking I could actually touch the sky sometime. I didn't know any better.

Maybe two or three nights ago, my dad insisted we go on a walk and we went to the park. It was about 7:30pm and it was just going dark. I was really surprised at how many people were still at the park. Especially because there were still families with children out. I don't know, it just surprised me. I suppose it is summer, after all. It's kind of cool how the swings are facing the school and you can see everything and all. I could see how much the school had changed and realized that I had changed some, too. I regret how ignorant I used to be.
